Mohd Shafiq asal Kota Kinabalu merupakan seorang laki-laki yang sangat baik dan kerap kali mengembangkan dengan belum dewasa kelaparan.
Seperti dilansir dari World of Buzz, laki-laki tersebut membagikan salah satu kisahnya melalui akun jejaring sosial Facebook, Lobak Merah.

"Saat itu saya sedang makan di restoran, ketika tiba-tiba mendengar bunyi di belakang saya, 'kakak, kakak'. Lalu saya bertanya 'ada apa?', dan belum dewasa itu meminta uang untuk beli masakan lantaran kelaparan," tulis Shafiq.

Kemudian, Shafiq pun mengajak belum dewasa tersebut untuk duduk bersamanya.
"Saya ajak mereka duduk bersama untuk makan. Usia mereka sekitar 8 atau 9 tahun, tapi mereka (anak-anak) itu pun tidak yakin dengan umurnya sendiri," tulis Shafiq.

Hal tersebut bikin Shafiq semakin penasaran.
"Salah satu dari mereka berjulukan Melvin, dan lainnya berjulukan Tutu. Saya bertanya apakah itu nama orisinil mereka, dan mereka pun tidak tahu. Mereka tampaknya tidak mempedulikan hal itu," tulis Shafiq.
Shafiq pun memesan dua nasi ayam dan minuman es Milo untuk para anak laki-laki itu sesuai dengan undangan mereka.

Jawaban mengejutkan terlontar ketika mereka ditanya Shafiq soal keluarganya dan cara mereka mendapat makanan.
Melvin pun menjawab, "Saudara saya ada di sana mencari sampah. Mama meninggal. Papa kabur ketika kami tertidur. Saat kami bangun, ia (papa) tidak ada, kami pun menangis."

Untuk mencari makan, Melvin pun menjawab, "Kami selalu mencari masakan di daerah sampah. Kami menyantap masakan sisa dan ayam sisa dari restoran cepat saji."
Shafiq pun menyarankan belum dewasa itu untuk mengumpulkan kaleng dan besi bekas di daerah sampah, supaya mereka bisa menjualnya buat mendapat masakan segar.

Melvin pun menyampaikan bahwa mereka sejatinya ingin bekerja sebagai buruh bangunan, alasannya ialah ayah mereka pernah mengajarkan cara mengaduk semen.
Dia pun mengaku bisa memanjat, dan saudaranya cerdik bertukang.

Tiba-tiba Melvin menawarkan sandalnya ke Shafiq yang ditemukan di daerah sampah.
"Sebelumnya saya tidak punya sandal. Ini saya temukan di daerah sampah. Saat saya tidak punya sandal, tidak ada yang mau menjadi sahabat saya," ujar Melvin.
"Tapi sekarang saya punya teman, meski sandal saya berlainan kiri dan kanannya."

Emosi Shafiq teraduk-aduk dikala itu.
Shafiq ingin mengingatkan publik untuk membantu belum dewasa itu semampunya.
